Meaningful Experiences

Intentional, one-of-a-kind tastings and tours

Salvadoran gastronomy is more than pupusas and Pilsner beers (though they are both delicious!) Which is why we thoughtfully curate off-the-beaten-path experiences, to enable deep, meaningful engagement with local cuisine and culture — and occasionally, cross-cultural/foreign gastronomy too.

We work with local (and sometimes foreign) chefs to bring you carefully curated and intimate meals — that authentically reflect the cultural heritage of their maker.

We also partner with Simona Macerados, a Salvadoran cocktail brand, to curate local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as part of a specialty drinks tasting or pairing.

We design custom experiences to explore El Salvador’s gastronomy, as well as arts and culture scene, like a local. Be it attending special events or visiting local hotspots.

Why “Sabor”?

Our founders, Abi & Andy met in Playa El Zonte, El Salvador — a surf village by the Pacific Ocean. Every morning, trucks loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables make their rounds through town, advertising products for sale over a loud speaker.

From tomates (tomatoes) to sandia (watermelon) they list off the delicious produce available, often ending with a loud and proud: “Saborrrrrrr!”

Our inspiration comes from that very word, which embodies the spirit of Salvadoran communities like this one, who truly “savour” life.

From epic surf sessions and hearty, traditional “típico” breakfasts, to daily sunset gatherings and pupusa dinners, this thirst for life — and meaningful experiences — is what we seek to share with our intentionally-crafted events.
